Caroline Chang Faculty, Mindful Living & Self-Compassion

Caroline Chang is a mindfulness and meditation teacher, somatic healing guide, and the founder of Zitamae, a mindful living platform serving students across five continents. Before she became a teacher, Caroline was a researcher at the National Cancer Institute of the National Institutes of Health. She was also a cancer survivor. Diagnosed with breast cancer at twenty eight, she found her way through surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation not by pushing harder, but by learning, slowly and imperfectly, how to stop fighting herself. That experience became the foundation of everything she teaches.

Caroline holds a certification as a mindfulness meditation teacher through the Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program (MMTCP) led by Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach, one of the most rigorous mindfulness teacher training programs in the world. She is also a certified yoga teacher (Yoga Alliance YTT-200), a trained counselor through the Didi Hirsch Suicide Prevention Center, and holds a certification in Integrative Somatic Trauma Therapy.

Her teaching draws on over twenty years of personal Vipassana meditation practice, including silent retreats of ten, twenty, and thirty days. Her work is grounded in the intersection of mindfulness, somatic awareness, and the relational wisdom of Virginia Satir.

She has collaborated with organizations including Team Survivor, YWCA, ISU University in Taiwan, and Micron, and has taught students from Australia, Canada, China, France, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, the United Kingdom, and the United States. She is the author of “Empowering Yourself Through Inner Child Healing: Rise Above Past Wounds and Thrive with Healthy Relationships.”

People who study with Caroline often say the same thing: her voice makes them feel safe before she has said anything important. That the room she creates, whether online or in person, feels like somewhere they can finally exhale. That is not an accident. It is what she has spent her life learning to offer.
